Exciting Range of Events in UAE Boosting Tourism


The UAE has a calendar full of exciting events all through the year. The country receives a staggering number of visitors around the year. The Global Village is a big draw. Expo 2020 is to be the UAE’s biggest event. It will be held from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021 in the Dubai South district, adjacent to Al Maktoum International Airport. The UAE also has several permanent exhibition spaces such as Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Dubai World Trade Centre and Expo Centre Sharjah.


In the month of November, UAE will see a flurry of activities and events. It will be an action-packed month. Some of the events over these 30 days are given here.


  • Global Village
    The 22nd season of Global Village kick-started on the 1st of this month. As 75 cultures are represented through 27 country pavilions, the whole world has once again merge in one place. More than 12,000 cultural and entertainment shows are being showcased and housed inside the 1.6 million square meter park located on Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road Exit 37. Also, there are more than 3,500 outlets, including hundreds of boutique shops, 23 restaurants and cafes, and 120 food and beverage kiosks that are featuring and serving cuisines from the Far East to the Middle East; Asia to Europe, Africa and the Americas.
  • Sharjah International Book Festival
    The Sharjah International Book Festival (SIBF) has launched with a theme of ‘A World Inside My Book’ on 1st November and will be on up to the 11th. Held at Expo Centre Sharjah, the 11-day event has 1.5 million titles from 1,650 publishing houses of 60 countries on display. The 36th edition of SIBF will feature more than 2,600 events attended by 393 guests from 48 countries. Earlier the total space of this event was 4,000 square metres. Now, due to the increasing demand, it has been expanded to 25,000 square metres this year.
  • Louvre Abu Dhabi
    It is set to open on the shores of Saadiyat Island on 11th The landmark museum – with its iconic heritage – took ten years. It will come to life and will enlighten minds through exhibits of art, culture, history and knowledge. The museum will feature a vast silver dome which will be filled with art. This museum will be the first of its kind in the Arab world.
  • The Color Run
    ‘The Happiest 5K on the Planet’ has now become the largest running series in the world. This has been experienced by over 6 million runners worldwide in 35+ countries, and continues to be a leader in the fun running space. With a per head ticket price of Dh 160, the event is all set to have its 5th edition this year on 11th
  • Dubai Fitness Challenge
    Kickstarted on 20th October, the Dubai Fitness Challenge, with the prime objective of the physical well-being of the emirate. There is a rise in number of parks, adventure offerings and other activities in Dubai. This is to motivate the people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and fitness measures. The event will end on 18th
  • Grand Prix Abu Dhabi
    Abu Dhabi is to host the final round of the real Formula One championship on November 26. The first Formula One Esports World Champion will be crowned at Yas Marina on November 24 and 25. In a bid to offer fans even greater flexibility and value, this year will see the ‘GP Parks Pass’ return and the introduction of the new ‘Kids Go Free’ package. This year you can catch four big names performing at the Yasalam after race concerts.


There are several other grand events to take place all through this month – Outdoor Cinema, Festival for Determined Youth (24th & 25th November) and Dubai Frame.
